Hi, I’m Michelle Boylan,

your Liberal Member of the Legislative Council in the Parliament of Western Australia. In the current parliament I serve on the Joint Standing Committee on the Corruption and Crime Commission.

I didn’t come into politics for the title – I came here to work. I’ve worn a police uniform, worked in kitchens, raised a family, and supported women and families in crisis. All those experiences shape how I serve: grounded in real life, focused on people, and driven by common sense.

I believe politics should be practical, not performative. My goal is simple: to be a voice for everyday people – the kind who rarely seek attention but deserve representation. I’m here to listen, to advocate, and to help fix what’s not working.

“I didn’t come here for status. I came here to work.”

A fantastic afternoon at North Dawesville Foreshore 🩵

It was great to speak alongside the strong voices of @andrewhastiemp, @davidbolt.mla and Hon Steve Thomas MLC!

Thank you to all who came down and shared what mattered to you!
Great to be back in Bunbury yesterday with @basil_zempilas at @bunburycentrepoint

We had some terrific conversations with locals: from Albermarle and the future of industry in our region, to energy transition and the practical challenges facing families and small businesses.

And of course, plenty of good old country chit chat too.

That’s what I love about Bunbury straight talk, strong community, and people who care deeply about our region’s future. 🤍🩵💙
Thank you for having us @chungwah.org.au 🇦🇺🇨🇳

An energising evening of conversation, connection and big ideas with members of the Chung Wah Association and the broader Chinese community of WA.

It was a real pleasure to be there alongside @stevemartinmlc , @basil_zempilas , @liam4carine and Steve Thomas MLC sharing such a positive, forward-looking discussion about the future of our State. 💙🩵
42°C outside. Broken air-con inside.

@liam4carine says maintenance requests for broken school air-conditioning have almost doubled in two years.

Last week I had the pleasure of visiting Passel Estate 🍇

It was a real insight into just how much hard work sits behind a small but successful winery. From seasonal pressures to workforce challenges, wineries rely heavily on strong tourism and people choosing to visit our regions.

Wine tourism, particularly international visitors plays a vital role in keeping places like Margaret River vibrant and sustainable.

Wendy does an incredible job, not only producing outstanding wine, but also advocating for the region and the people who make it such a special part of Western Australia.

Grateful for the opportunity to listen, learn and support our regional producers!
Still buzzing from the Australia Day energy 🇦🇺

I absolutely love this country. Australia Day at Skyfest at Koombana Bay was a real reminder of the strength of our community.

Moments like that are a powerful reminder of who we are and what we share. 💙🩵
Happy Australia Day 🇦🇺

So proud to celebrate the best of our Harvey community. Congratulations to Anne Ryan, Brunswick Junction Community Men’s Shed, Jeff Gale and Sophia Tomas for their well-deserved Australia Day honours.

Thank you to the Harvey Australia Day Breakfast Committee, chaired by Paul Beech and also the Yarloop School Choir for their wonderful harmonies 🤍🤍
A big week for the Boylan family 💙

Proud mum moment as my youngest, Harry, starts his apprenticeship.

Hard work. Personal responsibility. Learning real skills.

This is how we build confidence, strong families and a strong economy by backing effort, not dependency, and creating real opportunities for young people to get ahead.

Go well, Harry 👏

WA Labor's demersal fishing ban is now in place in Western Australia and the consequences are already being felt.

Commercial demersal fishing on the west coast is closed.
Recreational boat fishing remains closed.
Communities from Kalbarri to Augusta are left dealing with the fallout.

This was a permanent decision, made despite modelling that showed recovery under a time-limited ban.
Full advice has not been released. Proper consultation did not occur.

Regional jobs, small businesses and coastal towns are paying the price for a decision that should never have been made this way.

This ban should be paused.
The Government must rethink its approach.
There must be a Parliamentary Inquiry.

The trend may be 2026 is the new 2016, but this is a moment for reflection.

The Yarloop fires, ten years ago, showed the strength of our community and the extraordinary commitment of frontline services in the face of devastation.

In 2026, the WA Department of Fire and Emergency Services, St John WA and the WA Police Force have already answered the call adapting to new challenges while continuing to place community safety above all else.

I pause to offer my sincere and solemn respect to those who serve on the frontline, and to all who have been impacted.
